The multi crore Souza Group of Puttur (Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka State) was formally established in the year 1975 by five brothers namely Gilbert, Wilfred, Walter, Michael and William. The group had its humble beginnings in a small shop in Puttur trading in copper, aluminium and steel vessels. Soon the brothers slowly entered into different fields. Today, the group is involved in such diverse business activities as hatcheries, aluminium recycling, aluminium utensils manufacturing and sales, distribution and sales of plumbing materials, generator sets, water storage tanks, cashew trading, processing and exports, travel and tourism, furniture and retail of electronic consumer goods. It has today become a name to reckon with in business circles.
